For the Forests & Societies Research Unit, the aim is to answer the following research questions:

  • What levers will enable farming communities to adapt their production systems (agriculture, livestock and forestry) to climate change?
  • How can agricultural practices (choice of species and varieties, agroecological and agroforestry techniques) enable annual crop systems to adapt to climate change?
  • What is the potential contribution of tree parks to community livelihoods (wood, fodder, NTFPs), to the adaptation of annual cropping systems to CC and to CC mitigation?
